A review of SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) a parent-based treatment program for children with OCD
What is the SPACE intervention? How Parental Involvement can Support Anxious Kids
Have you heard about SPACE and wonder if it could be helpful for you and your family? Join us for an introduction to the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) program! SPACE is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. It was developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center and is a well-supported evidenced based practice. SPACE shifts the focus of the intervention from the child/adolescent who is struggling with their anxiety, to the parent who can learn skills to shift their responses from accommodation to support. This is not a training in the intervention, rather an overview to help you determine if it would be a fit for your family. Providers certified in this intervention can be found on the SPACE treatment website: https://www.spacetreatment.net/space-providers
